Amal Sabti Hmeidan is an Innovative and highly organized professional with over 20 years experience in Medical/ Health insurance and Pharmacy benefit management in GCC. She holds a Bachelor degree in Pharmacy from Applied Science university and a postgraduate degree  in Pharmacoeconomics from UPF Barcelona school of Management.. In 2012, she completed LOMA Certificate level One, insurance industry practices in the US market.  She also completed several specialized courses such as Business Analytics: from data to decisions from the Imperial college business school and Pharmacogenomics from RXgenomix and she is currently studying  “Artificial intelligence in healthcare” specialization at Coursera which is offered by Stanford.  


Amal assumed the position of Director of Clinical Analytics and Drug Informatics and a Branch Manager for Jordan Office at MedImpact Arabia, Pharmacy Benefit Management Company (UAE and Jordan), a company she joined in 2012.  At GlobeMed Gulf, from 2008 to 2012, she worked as Claims Processing Manager.  She started her career with Goodhealth Worldwide (ME) LLC. (UAE) in 2001 as a Claim Accessor and progressed into several positions.  When she left at the end of 2007, she was the Claims Customer Liaison Supervisor.  


Throughout her career, she had a major role in planning, implementing, and monitoring clinical added value initiatives such as indication editing, age edits, quantity limitation edits …etc and participated in planning and setting up clinical edit and drug mapping for new markets. She performed important clinical analytical studies including studies related to drug price change impact on payers and shared the results with UAE MOH and Set up a clinical data analytics process. The outcome of studies helped improve the patient care while reducing unnecessary pharmacy costs for patients, payers and providers through specific designed and customized clinical programs. She also led several projects throughout her career including the installation of medical claim online portal for a TPA in UAE and setting up an operation in Jordan that included technical support call centre, Clinical analytics and drug informatics department and others.

 

Amal is also experienced in training. Through her job she was required to perform trainings to payers and clients on reporting systems.   She was also a speaker at many insurance forums including the 9th Healthcare insurance Forum, Dubai, UAE, Jan 2014 and the 10th Healthcare Insurance Forum, Dubai, UAE – Jan 2015.  Through Links Consulting and Training, she conducted a training on Customer Service in the field of Insurance at the Insurance Federation Union in 2019.  
She has also attended several training courses includng Telephone skills, 2-week Training on actisure system; software used by international insurance companies, Dealing with Difficult customers workshop, coach leader and team player workshop. She also attended several training on Coding and Mapping.  In addition, she attended the 6th Medication Safety Conference- Abu Dhabi, several MedImpact Annual conference – San Diego, California- USA, and Leadership bootcamp, Amman .
