Dr. Hanan Jameel Halaseh

Dr. Hanan Halaseh holds a PhD degree in Social Psychology from Roh Alquds University in Lebanon. She is an Assistant Professor at Al-Isra University and has a private clinic for psychological services. In addition, she is a consultant at Theodor Schneller German schools in Amman, and a part-time lecturer in the Department of Psychology and Women’s Studies at several Jordanian universities, including University of Jordan and University of Petra.

Dr. Hanan Halaseh has many technical and professional experiences. She held senior positions such as the director of the Arnon Center for Studies.  Also, she participated in the preparation of the Ministry of Social Development’s strategy and structure and held several positions there to include technical inspector and study official at the news agency, evening director at Al Hussein Foundation for Orphans, director of Family and Childhood Department, Head of the Counseling and Guidance Unit and Director of the Karak Center for the Mentally Handicapped Adults. She also participated in the preparation of the childhood plan for the year 2013 in the National Council for Family and Childhood.  She occupied several positions in the National Aid Fund, including the official of operating program for beneficiaries, official of the program for rehabilitation of children of the poor in cooperation with the Vocational Training Corporation and the Studies Program, Head of the Follow-up and Inspection Unit on Repeated Aid requests and Small Projects, and Head of the Rehabilitation Department (small projects). In addition, she was a full-time lecturer at Princess Rahma University, and College for Social Work at Al-Balqa Applied University. She was an active member of the Curriculum Development Committee, from diploma level to bachelor's level.

Dr. Hanan Halaseh is a certified trainer. She presented several courses and workshops which were presented to the refugee population in Jordan entitled, “How to Re-adapt to the New Society”, and “Temporary Camps for Iraqi Refugees”.  Her workshops also included a training course for Jordanian Journalists, on how to deal with the image of women in the readable media, and the possibility of improving it and training courses were held for psychologists and social workers working in the institutions of the Ministry of Social Development, entitled "The role of the psychological and social specialist, especially in dangerous tasks."
She published several books and did several studies and working papers on the Jordanian women and youth. Among these contributions are published books as follows: “Personality and Self-Concept” “Change and Enlightenment” and “the psychology of working women in Jordan”. Among the studies she presented “Gender, Work and Self-Concept”, “Humanities: Reality and Hope” “Ishtar ... and Eve”, "Terrorism and its social, economic and political roots in Jordan", a psychological study on psychological trauma, a paper on methods of psychological treatment for women according to the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a study on the narcissistic personality, which was published through the conference papers in Syria. She also presented was a legal study on the national efforts exerted on the legislative and social side to reduce violence against women, and a study on working and expatriate women (between issues of violence and legal protection) published in English at an Albanian University. Additional studies were done on the problems’ impact on the self-concept of working Jordanian women, and a study entitled Women in the Read Media, which was published by the Center for Media Studies. A group of papers written on poverty and unemployment which were presented through workshops.

She participated in many conferences, including the Women's Conference in the Middle East and North Africa and the International Women's Fund, Amman, a special conference entitled Human Trafficking, held in Istanbul, a conference on Women and Political Leadership in Beirut, the Women’s Conference and CEDAW in Alexandria, the workshop titled “Mental and Mental Health among Women in Jordan” and the Arab Labor Conference on Arab Women, which was held in Amman in 2003.
